Marquee Move to Wynnum for $1.23 Million

Family owned and operated marquee supplier ‘Events in Tents’ have snapped up an  industrial building at Wynnum on Brisbane’s bayside to accommodate a growing business that has included working for rock legends AC/DC and the Gold Coast Schoolies festival.

Events in Tents have purchased the freestanding warehouse/office facility at 25 Mungala Street, Wynnum, for $1.23 million through Ray White Industrial Milton Principal Stephen Ferguson.

The company’s founder and owner Grant Marcovich said Events in Tents had been seeking significantly larger premises from their current headquarters in a 350 sqm strata unit at Hemmant.

“This building is 932 sqm and is almost three times the size of our current site where we have been bursting at the seams,” Mr Marcovich said.

Established in 1997, Events in Tents operates throughout South East Queensland and northern NSW and has had a decade-long association with Schoolies as well as major events such as Oktoberfest Brisbane, the RSPCA Million Paws Walk and the QLD Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow.

Mr Marcovich said Events in Tents also supplied marquees for Chameleon Touring Systems for AC/DC’s recent outdoor concerts at the Queensland Sports and Athletic Centre (QSAC) in Brisbane.

“We erected marquees for the band’s dressing rooms, the catering area and all the merchandising outlets as well as all under hire equipment,” he said.

“Events in Tents provide a highly personalized service and besides erecting marquees for major events, we also specialise in weddings, parties and corporate functions. With Queensland’s wonderful climate, an event in a marquee is a great way to celebrate a special occasion.”

Stephen Ferguson said the Mungala St property is on a land area of approximately 1654 sqm and the building contains ground floor and mezzanine offices.

“The property is located in a highly sort after industrial precinct of Wynnum and has direct driveway access via dual roller doors,” he said.

Wynnum is located on the shores of Moreton Bay and is approximately 16km east of the Brisbane CBD.
